Welcome to DSERT Text Books on-line.

Our aim is to provide easy on-line access to all our text books by hosting these on our web-site.

We expect that students, teachers would benefit from this access. In addition, teachers from other states, education functionaries, researchers, individuals and organizations working in the education sector all over the country, even all over the world, can now access the text books.

To begin with, we are providing access to all text books of Class X, for Kannada and English medium of instruction for all the subjects. Our aim is to gradually cover all classes and all mediums.

We have kept the site and access simple. You need to select a particular medium, class and subject on the left side and click on the <view> OR the <download> button. Clicking on the <view>button would open a web page in a new window. This web page would provide the list of the chapters of the selected text book, as hyperlinks.

 Clicking on a chapter title in this page would open the chapter itself in the form of a PDF file which can be viewed on-line. You can also click on the SAVE icon in this window, to save this specific chapter on to your computer, giving a title of your choice. In case you do not want to view individual chapters, but want to download the entire text book onto your own machine, you can click on the <download> button. This would download a zip file, containing all the chapters of the selected text, onto the folder specified by you. Clicking on this zip file would extract all the individual chapters in form of separate PDF files. You will need a utility such as winzip, to unzip the zip file.

You will also need Adobe Acrobat Reader for opening the PDF files, the link for downloading Adobe Acrobat Reader onto your computer, is provided on the left side. Some of the zip files may be big and may take time to download, specially if you are connecting through dial-up mode. In this case, you could open the individual chapters as explained in previous paragraph and download the chapter by clicking on the SAVE icon in that window. We welcome your feedback on the site.
